The University of Potsdam is an entrepreneurial university and cooperates closely with the business community. The University considers itself a catalyst for developing and promoting ideas. Spreading these ideas and making them useable is a challenge and social responsibility of the University, which requires an entrepreneurial perspective.
Potsdam uses a three-level system that ensures comprehensive assistance during transfer processes. It includes Potsdam Transfer, the University’s center for innovation, startups, knowledge- and technology-transfer, UP Transfer GmbH, a non-profit subsidiary of the University for applied research and development as well as executive education, and the market-oriented GO:INcubator GmbH for consulting services.
The University of Potsdam has developed its profile as an entrepreneurial university with an integrated, university-wide strategy promoting an entrepreneurial culture and spirit. Potsdam Transfer – the central entrepreneurship- and innovation-support-unit at the university – pursues different approaches to implement this strategy.
Technology Scouting – University technology scouts actively look for applicable results of academic research. They identify new ideas for products and services and regularly analyze demand on the market. Entrepreneurship Academy – The Academy bundles the premium qualifications of future entrepreneurs. It addresses important professional competences while also assessing and developing personality traits relevant for start-up activities. Startup Acceleration – Our Accelerator program supports academic Startups on their way into the market.
